James O'Hara Maloney was an American chemical engineer who taught at the University of Kansas from 1945 to 1985. He was a member of the American Chemical Society and other professional organizations. He served as an editor for several editions of Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook, a comprehensive reference in the field. His research focused on topics such as gas absorption, heavy water production, and heat radiation and convection.
