James S. A. Corey is the shared pen name of American authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, who began collaborating on science fiction in the late 2000s. Together they created The Expanse series, a sprawling space opera beginning with Leviathan Wakes (2011) that follows humanity centuries into the future as it grapples with colonization of the solar system and first contact with an alien artifact. The series was adapted into a critically acclaimed television show and spans nine novels plus several novellas.
