Jeanette Winterson is a British author known for her exploration of themes such as sexual identity, gender, and the relationship between humans and technology. Her first book, Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, is a semi-autobiographical novel about a lesbian growing up in an English Pentecostal community. She has received recognition for her contributions to literature, including an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) and a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). Winterson is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. Her work has been translated into almost 20 languages.
