Johan Ludvig Heiberg was a Danish poet, playwright, literary critic, and literary historian. He was the son of the political writer Peter Andreas Heiberg and the novelist Baroness Gyllembourg-Ehrensvärd. He promoted Hegelian philosophy and introduced vaudeville to Denmark. He lived from 1791 to 1860.
