Johan Ludvig Runeberg is Finland's national poet and the author of Finland's national anthem, a Swedish-speaking writer and poet who lived from 1804 to 1877. He is most famous for The Tales of Ensign Stål (2 parts, 1848 and 1860), an epic poem about the Finnish War of 1808-1809.
