Johann Reinhold Forster

Johann Reinhold Forster was a German Reformed pastor and naturalist born in Dirschau, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. He studied theology at the University of Halle after attending school in Dirschau and Marienwerder, and was admitted to the Joachimsthal Gymnasium in Berlin in 1745. He became a parson near Danzig in 1753 and married his cousin Justina Elisabeth Nicolai in 1754, with whom he had seven children, including the naturalist George Forster. He died in 1798.
