Jonathan Michel Metzl (born 1964) is an American psychiatrist and author. He is the Frederick B. Rentschler II Professor of Sociology and Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University, where he also directs the Center for Medicine, Health, and Society. An expert on gun violence and mental illness, he is the author of several books, including The Protest Psychosis, Prozac on the Couch, and Dying of Whiteness.
