Joseph Smith Fletcher, known as J. S. Fletcher, was a British journalist and writer who was also a fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He studied law before transitioning to a career in journalism. He was recognized as one of the leading writers of detective fiction during the early period of the Golden Age of Detection.
