K. R. Meera is an Indian author and journalist who writes in Malayalam. Born in Sasthamkotta, Kollam district, Kerala, she worked as a journalist at Malayala Manorama before resigning to concentrate on writing. She began writing fiction in 2001, and her novel Aarachaar (2012) won several awards, including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, the Odakkuzhal Award, the Vayalar Award, and the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award.
