Katie Fforde, born Catherine Rose Gordon-Cumming on 27 September 1952 in London, England, is a British author known for her romance novels set in modern-day England. She began writing after the birth of her third child and has previously worked as a cleaning lady and in a health food cafe. Fforde is the founder of the "Katie Fforde Bursary" for unpublished writers and served as Chairman of the Romantic Novelists' Association from 2009 to 2011, later becoming its fourth President following Diane Pearson's retirement in 2011. She lives in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England with her husband, Desmond Fforde.
