Keizan Jōkin, also known as Taiso Jōsai Daishi, was a Japanese Buddhist monk and the second great founder of the Sōtō school of Zen in Japan. He is often referred to as the Great Ancestor, in contrast to Dōgen, who is known as the Highest Ancestor. Keizan played a significant role in the development and spread of the Sōtō tradition.
