Ken Liu, born in 1976, is an American author of science fiction and fantasy. He is a Chinese-American writer who has won multiple Hugo and Nebula Awards for his short fiction. His work has been published in magazines such as F&SF, Asimov's, Analog, Lightspeed, and Clarkesworld, as well as in multiple "Year's Best" anthologies. Liu also wrote an epic fantasy novel series called The Dandelion Dynasty, which he describes as silkpunk. The series was published by Simon & Schuster.
