Koot Hoomi is described as one of the Mahatmas who inspired the founding of the Theosophical Society in 1875. He engaged in a correspondence with English Theosophists A. P. Sinnett and A. O. Hume, which was later published in the book The Mahatma Letters to A. P. Sinnett. He is recognized as an Indian religious leader. He was born in 1900.
