Lucy Walker was the pseudonym of Dorothy Lucie Sanders, an Australian romance novelist born in Boulder, Western Australia. She was a qualified teacher who taught in state schools in Western Australia and later in London, where she continued her teaching while her husband completed his doctorate. She began writing in 1945, producing articles, short stories, and novels, with her first novel, Fairies on the Doorstep, published in 1948.
