Ala' al-Din al-Kasani, known as Al-Kasani or al-Kashani, was a 12th-century Sunni Muslim jurist and an influential figure of the Hanafi school of Sunni jurisprudence. He was a prominent Islamic scholar who contributed to the development and dissemination of Hanafi legal thought. His work remains significant within the Sunni tradition, where the Hanafi school is the most widely practiced.
