Naomi Oreskes is an American historian of science who has focused on geophysics, environmental issues, and the history of science. She was a professor at the University of California, San Diego, for 15 years before joining Harvard University in 2013 as a professor of the history of science and affiliated professor of earth and planetary sciences. In 2010, she co-authored Merchants of Doubt, which explored parallels between climate change debates and past public controversies. She was born in 1958.
