Onkelos

Onkelos was a Roman national who converted to Judaism during Tannaic times. He is considered to be the author of the Targum Onkelos, a significant Aramaic translation of the Hebrew Bible. Onkelos is possibly identical to Aquila of Sinope, though this connection is not definitively established. He is also noted as the author of an edition of the Targum.
