Oriana Fallaci (1929–2006) was an Italian journalist, author, and political interviewer. She served as a partisan during World War II and later built a long and successful career in journalism. Fallaci gained international recognition for her coverage of war and revolution, as well as for her interviews with world leaders during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Her book Interview with History includes conversations with figures such as Indira Gandhi, Golda Meir, Yasser Arafat, Henry Kissinger, and others. One of her interviews with Kissinger was published in Playboy, where he described himself as "the cowboy who leads the wagon train by riding ahead alone on his horse."
