The "Pearl Poet" is the name given to the author of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, as well as the poems Pearl, Patience, and Cleanness. These works are written in 14th-century Middle English and are known from a single surviving manuscript, the British Library's 'Cotton MS' Nero A.x. Some scholars suggest the author may also have composed Saint Erkenwald, though this is less certain.
