Pedro Carolino was a 19th-century writer who authored O novo guia da conversação em portuguez e inglez, commonly known as She Is Spoke, a Portuguese–English conversational guide. The book, sometimes credited to José da Fonseca as a co-author, is now recognized as a classic example of unintentional humor in translation. It was intended as a practical language guide but is today celebrated for its inaccurate and unidiomatic translations.
