Pei Xing was a Chinese writer and official during the era of the Tang dynasty. He is the author of Tales of the Marvelous, a collection whose original has long been lost, with only some of its stories preserved through quotations in the Taiping guangji. As a Tang official he rose to the position of Deputy Military Commissioner of Chengdu in 878.
