Peter Braestrup was a journalist and editor who worked for The New York Times and The Washington Post. He founded the Wilson Quarterly and later served as senior editor and director of communications for the Library of Congress. His 1977 book Big Story, a two-volume analysis of media coverage of the 1968 Tet Offensive in Vietnam, argued that the reporting was overly negative and contributed to the loss of public support for the war. The work is frequently cited by historians as the definitive account of media reporting on the Tet Offensive.
