Philip Ardagh is an English children's author known for writing the Eddie Dickens series. He has authored more than 100 books, including works of adult fiction and children's non-fiction. In 2004 and 2005, Ardagh collaborated with Sir Paul McCartney and illustrator-animator Geoff Dunbar on the children's book High in the Clouds. Published in October 2005, the book was released simultaneously in the UK, US, and other countries, with an initial print run of half a million copies in the United States. The Observer described the book as "a tale about the perils of unchecked global capitalism."
