Ann Philippa Pearce OBE FRSL was an English author of children's books. She is best known for the time-slip novel Tom's Midnight Garden, which won the 1958 Carnegie Medal from the Library Association. Pearce was a commended runner-up for the Medal on four additional occasions. She was born in 1920 and died in 2006.
