1 standalone book

The Venerable Pope Pius XII, born Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli, was the 260th Pope and head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of Vatican City State. He served from 2 March 1939 until his death in 1958. Before becoming pope, Pacelli held several significant roles, including secretary of the Department of Extraordinary Ecclesiastical Affairs, papal nuncio, and Cardinal Secretary of State. In these positions, he worked on concluding treaties with European and Latin American nations, most notably the Reichskonkordat with Germany. His leadership during World War II remains a subject of historical debate.
