Hakob Melik Hakobian, known by his pen name Raffi, was an Armenian author and a leading figure in 19th-century Armenian literature. He is regarded as one of the most influential modern Armenian writers, with his historical novels contributing significantly to the growth of modern Armenian nationalism. Raffi was also recognized as an Armenian playwright. He was born in 1835 and died in 1888.
