Randall Patrick Munroe (born October 17, 1984) is an American cartoonist, author, engineer, and scientific theorist, best known as the creator of the webcomic xkcd. He and the webcomic developed a large fanbase, and shortly after graduating from college he became a professional webcomic artist.
