Wilson was associated with Discordianism, a countercultural movement, and was recognized by it as an Episkopos, Pope, and saint. He contributed to the group's visibility through his writings and interviews. Wilson aimed to challenge conditioned thinking and encourage a broad skepticism, seeking to foster a state of generalized agnosticism.
