Robert Barr was a Canadian/British writer of novels and short stories. Born in Scotland, he moved to Canada with his parents at the age of four and lived there for a time, during which he taught and began writing. He emigrated to England in 1881, where he spent most of his writing career. He was associated with notable figures such as Jerome K. Jerome and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
