1 standalone book

Robert Nozick (November 16, 1938 – January 23, 2002) was an American philosopher who held the Joseph Pellegrino University Professorship at Harvard University. He also served as president of the American Philosophical Association. Nozick is best known for his books Philosophical Explanations (1981) and Anarchy, State, and Utopia (1974). The latter presented a libertarian response to John Rawls' A Theory of Justice and outlined a theory of utopia based on voluntary participation in societal rules. His work spanned ethics, decision theory, philosophy of mind, metaphysics, and epistemology. His final book, Invariances (2001), introduced a theory of evolutionary cosmology, arguing that invariances and objectivity emerged through evolution across possible worlds.
