Robyn Elaine Donald was born in Northland, New Zealand, and was the eldest of her siblings. She worked as a teacher and later began writing romance novels, inspired by her reading of Mills & Boon romances and the illnesses of her sister and husband. Her writing career developed after she found the need to create stories of her own following her sister's request for cheerful reading material. She wrote for a decade, aiming to complete a manuscript suitable for submission.
