Rosamunde Pilcher was a British author known for her romantic fiction. She began writing at the age of seven and published her first short story at eighteen. Her literary career began in 1949 with the publication of her first novel under the pseudonym Jane Fraser, and she later wrote exclusively under her married name. She received the Romantic Novel of the Year Award in 1996 for her novel Coming Home.
