Saint Gorazd was a 9th century cleric from Great Moravia and one of the most prominent followers and students of saints Cyril and Methodius. He was ordained into priesthood in 867 and later attempted to assume leadership in the Archbishopric of Moravia after the death of Methodius. He served as bishop of Moravia but failed to secure support from the ruling prince Svatopluk I.
