Sally Wentworth was the pseudonym used by Doreen Hornsblow, who was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, England. She worked as an accounts clerk for Associated Newspapers Ltd. in London and later for the Consumers' Association in Hertford. She began her writing career after attending an evening class and sold her first novel to Mills & Boon in 1977, publishing subsequent works under the name Sally Wentworth. Her novels were primarily set in Great Britain or in exotic locations such as the Canary Islands or Greece, and she later created series including the Barclay twins story in 1991 and the Ties of Passion Trilogy about the Brodey family in 1995.
