Samuel Phillips Huntington (1927–2008) was an American political scientist, adviser, and academic. He was affiliated with Harvard University for more than half a century, serving as director of the Center for International Affairs and holding the position of Albert J. Weatherhead III University Professor. He is most recognized for his 1993 theory, The Clash of Civilizations, which proposed a framework for understanding global political dynamics after the Cold War. His work remains influential in the field of international relations.
