Shōhei Ōoka

Shōhei Ōoka (1909–1988) was a Japanese novelist, literary critic, lecturer, and translator of French literature active during the Shōwa period. He belonged to the group of postwar writers whose Pacific War experiences figure prominently in their works, and he contributed short stories and critical essays to almost every literary magazine in Japan.
