Sharon Kendrick was born in England and grew up near Heathrow Airport. She began writing stories at a young age and completed her first book at eleven, though the manuscript was lost. She worked in various professions, including as a waitress, cook, dancer, photographer, shop worker, bar singer, and nurse, and drove an ambulance across the Australian desert. She began writing seriously after settling down and married, producing her first published book, Nurse in the Outback, which was accepted by Mills & Boon without revisions.
