Sir Richard John Evans FBA FRSL FRHistS FLSW is a British historian specializing in 19th- and 20th-century Europe, with a particular focus on Germany. He is the author of eighteen books, including the three-volume The Third Reich Trilogy. Evans served as Regius Professor of History at the University of Cambridge and President of Wolfson College, Cambridge, before becoming Provost of Gresham College in London. He was appointed Knight Bachelor in the 2012 Birthday Honours for services to scholarship.
