Taqi al-Din al-Subki

Taqi al-Din al-Subki (1284–1355) was a Sunni Egyptian polymath and one of the foremost Shafi'i jurisconsults of his time, also active as a traditionist, Quranic exegete, theologian, grammarian, and historian. He served as the chief judge of Damascus for seventeen years. He was the father of Taj al-Din al-Subki.
