Theodore Dwight Weld (1803–1895) was an American abolitionist and one of the architects of the movement during its formative years from 1830 to 1844, working as a writer, editor, speaker, and organizer. He is best known for co-authoring the compendium American Slavery as It Is: Testimony of a Thousand Witnesses (1839), which Harriet Beecher Stowe partly drew on for Uncle Tom's Cabin. He remained dedicated to abolition until slavery was ended in 1865.
