Tui T. Sutherland is an American author born on July 31, 1978, in Caracas, Venezuela, and named after a bird native to New Zealand, her mother's homeland. She is best known for creating the Wings of Fire series, a bestselling middle-grade fantasy saga following dragons navigating prophecy, war, and identity. A graduate of Williams College, she has written dozens of novels and is one of the most widely read authors in contemporary children's fantasy.
