Vācaka Umāsvāti was an Indian scholar known for authoring the Jain text Tattvartha Sutra. He is considered a foundational figure in Jainism, and his work is the first Sanskrit language text on Jaina philosophy. The Tattvartha Sutra is regarded as an authoritative text by all four Jaina traditions. His writings hold significant importance in Jain philosophy, comparable to the Vedanta Sutras and Yogasutras in Hinduism.
