Baháʼu'lláh, born Ḥusayn-ʻAlí on 12 November 1817, was the founder of the Baháʼí Faith. He was born into an aristocratic family in Persia, specifically in the province of Núr, where he was known as Mírzá Ḥusayn-ʻAlí Núrí. He was exiled due to his adherence to the Bábí Faith, a messianic movement that preceded the Baháʼí Faith. Baháʼu'lláh lived until 29 May 1892. The title Baháʼu'lláh, meaning "Glory of God," is associated with his spiritual leadership.
