Li Zhichang, also known by his style name Hàorán and his pseudonym Zhēnchángzǐ, was born in Guancheng, Kaizhou. He became the seventh leader of the Quanzhen School of Taoism in 1238. During his leadership, he emphasized the inclusion of exiled scholars and notable men, leading the school to its peak. As the Mongol Dynasty began, Buddhism was favored, and the Quanzhen School of Taoism faced suppression. Li Zhichang was an author and writer who lived from 1193 to 1256.
