About “Ravens of Avalon”

Marion Zimmer Bradley's Ravens of Avalon is a prequel to The Forest House, expanding the legendary Avalon series. It follows Boudica, a Celtic princess, and Lhiannon, her mentor and a priestess on the Druid isle. When the Romans conquer Britain, Lhiannon resists while Boudica is married to a king who has surrendered. After his death, the Romans oppress her and her daughters. Boudica then leads a rebellion against the Romans, nearly driving them from Britain. Lhiannon survives and becomes the guardian of Druid traditions in Roman Britain as high priestess of the Forest House. The novel explores the history and myth of Avalon through the lives of strong women.
