About “Babar the King”
Babar the King is a children's book in which Babar, having established a new life after leaving the jungle, founds the city of Celesteville with the help of dromedaries. The story details the construction of the city, the assignment of jobs to its elephant citizens, and the subsequent challenges of a snake bite to the Old Lady and a fire at Cornelius' home. After Babar experiences a dream in which he is visited by demons and comforted by angelic figures representing virtues, both the Old Lady and Cornelius recover fully.
