Engineer Ruby Miller is sent on an extended business trip to New York City, where she'll work alongside Niall Stella, her firm's top urban planning executive, whom she has long crushed on unnoticed. A flirty overnight flight changes that, and the recently divorced Niall finds outgoing Ruby a breath of fresh air, but when the trip ends, it's uncertain whether their relationship will survive the return to London.
