About “'Toons for our times”
Bloom County is an American comic strip created by Berkeley Breathed. It ran from December 8, 1980, to August 6, 1989. The strip explored politics and culture through the lens of a fictional small town in Middle America. It featured a mix of human and animal characters. The main characters include the adolescent Michael Binkley, Milo Bloom, attorney Steve Dallas, and Vietnam War veteran Cutter John. Animal characters include Opus the Penguin and Bill the Cat.
