About “Twenty Wishes”

At thirty-eight, widowed and childless Anne Marie Roche owns a successful bookstore on Seattle's Blossom Street but feels an emptiness despite her accomplishments. On Valentine's Day, she and other widows each begin a list of twenty wishes, things they always wanted to do. Volunteering at a local school, Anne Marie meets eight-year-old Ellen, and their relationship becomes more important than she imagined as they work through the list together.
