About “2084”
"2084: The End of the World" is a 2015 novel by Algerian writer Boualem Sansal, published by Éditions Gallimard on 20 August 2015. The book is a dystopian work inspired by George Orwell's "Nineteen-Eighty Four" and is set in an Islamist totalitarian society following a nuclear holocaust. It was jointly awarded the 2015 Grand Prix du roman de l'Académie française, along with "Les Prépondérants" by Hédi Kaddour.
